Ohio River Sweep – Over 100 Volunteers!

The River Sweep was Saturday, June 16th. The Portsmouth Event was held on Friday with Upward Bound Students from Shawnee State University. We had 4 locations on Saturday in Lawrence County, and the results are in!

Scioto Brush Creek Sweep Big Success!

Friends of Scioto Brush Creek is a great group of people in Scioto County that clean Scioto Brush Creek, and also do much more. They had their cleanup this past weekend of Scioto Brush Creek with 36 people participating. They had 16 canoes on the creek retrieving tires and trash that accumulated in the creek. Also, they cleaned 3 to 4 miles of this waterway. Amazing!

Earth Day Event held at the Open Door School in Ironton

Our 8th annual Earth Day Event was held at the Open Door School in Ironton. The students planted flowers donated by South Point Lowe’s.

E-Waste & Shred Day 2018 – Over 2 Tons of Materials Recycled!

Lawrence County

Held at Ironton Hills Plaza

Saturday, May 12, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

86 – vehicles for Document Shredding – 6,000 lbs.

38 – vehicles for E-waste   –  1,000 lbs.

 

 124 – total vehicles

 

Scioto County

Held at Valley Wholesale Foods on Market St. in Portsmouth

Friday, May 11, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

82 – vehicles for Document Shredding  – 9,000 lbs.

58 – vehicles for E-waste  – 4,500 lbs.

 

 140  – total vehicles


Totals:

   264 total vehicles              

   15,000 lbs. – shredding

   5,500 lbs. – e-waste

Pharmaceutical Collection Results for 2018

Scioto County

The Scioto County Drug Take Back event was held at the Scioto County Sheriff’s parking lot.    The event was held on Friday, April 13th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Results were:

  • 67 vehicles
  • 71 lbs. of pills collected
  • 48 lbs. of sharps/syringes
  • 19 lbs. of liquid meds

 

Lawrence County

The Lawrence County Drug Take Back event was held at the Ironton Hills Plaza.  The event was held on Saturday, April 14th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Results were:

  • 53 vehicles
  • 80 lbs. of pills collected
  • 10 lbs. of sharps/syringes
  • 32  of liquid meds
